T. Sendzimir, Inc. is a 65 year old Engineering Firm located in Waterbury, Connecticut and is involved in the design and development of heavy machinery to roll sheet strip steel - especially stainless steel and high alloys. Our typical business cycle involves large projects with a long sales cycle. We also have a significant business in spare parts, technical support, and on location service all with much shorter sales cycles. It is envisioned that this position will support our current Sales Team with a variety of Sales and Customer service related tasks.

Job skills must include standard secretarial job skills such as letter writing, assisting with the formatting of technical specifications and quotations, interface with customers over the phone and via email while also providing support to the Sales Team. A high level of organization and detail is required.

Responsibilities:

1. Customer call back, quotation follow up, and customer sales development
2. Technical support to customers (with company training).
3. Vendor contact for quotations and for new product development
4. Preparation of Quotations including written sales letters with description of scope of supply and commercial terms, et cetera.
5. Development of technical data database for use by the sales and engineering department.
6. Review of bid proposals from suppliers and negotiate contracts within the authority of the job position to obtain the best pricing of products and services.
7. Assist sales and marketing department in planning and providing data on price trends.
8. Develop and maintain a purchasing policy and procedures manual.
9. Analyze method of failure of defective parts and implement corrective procedures.

Job requirements:

1. Knowledge of Blueprint reading.
2. Knowledge of manufacturing procedures for machine shops.
3. Ability to analyze product cost and understand underlying cost drivers for highly engineered products and manufacturing processes.
4. B.S. in Mechanical Engineering REQUIRED.
5 .Experience in engineering is a plus as well as the ability to understand a bill of materials.
6. Demonstrable Sales and Customer Service Experience
7. Some travel locally in New England would be required with occasional travel to the Midwest.
8. We stress capability for heavy machine design specifically for both production machine
design as well as research and development activities.
9. Candidate must be able to communicate ideas and concepts with strong writing skills and proficiency in analytical writing.
10. Candidates with experience in foreign countries or foreign languages are preferable but not necessary.
11. Demonstrable proficiency in MS Office 2010 or greater.
