Full description of the position

Job Summary

Assists and coordinates engineering and pricing activities associated with proposal and project cost preparation. The position is responsible for efficient and economical pricing of company and other companies products in conformance with established specifications and procedures. The Estimator will liaise with ESCs domestic and overseas design and fabrication offices to assist sales through close coordination with the sales team and to assist or lead sales when necessary in the Americas.

Essential Functions

1. Analyzing requirement documents, blueprints and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project.

2. Review tender activities in coordination with ESC design and fabrication heads overseas and in the US to ensure maximum effectiveness is obtained for designs/tenders/construction within specified time and budgetary guidelines for the Americas.

3. Help to ensure that responsible departments are 100% compliant to project design and construction requirements.

4. Interface with Manufacturing within the US and overseas to ensure company and third-party facilities, equipment and technologies are adequate to support progressive design developments.

5. Develop and maintain education of yourself to ensure up to date design/construction knowledge.

Other Responsibilities

1. Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service or product.

2. Developing and maintaining relationships with company vendors and contractors.

3. Managing bids from vendors and contractors and handling logistics for projects when necessary.

4. Using bid data to prepare a detailed cost analysis (pre and post contract).

5. Presenting prepared estimates to management.

6. Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

7. Needs to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications

Construction Management, Mechanical/Civil Engineering degree preferred.

Physical Requirement

Healthy, able to travel and to conduct site inspections, client visits and supervision without requiring assistance domestically in the US and potentially overseas.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
