Full description of the position

PSI-Polymer Systems has an immediate need for an experienced, highly disciplined, self-motivated Technical Sales representative for the Conover, NC location. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and will provide technical process, administrative, and sales support for customers. He or she will be involved in multiple roles including prospecting, territory/account development, needs analysis, application evaluation, product selection and quoting order procurement, and technical support.

Classification

$40,000 plus commission

Compensation Range

2022 median Technical Sales Specialist total compensation; including benefits was $70,000

Reports to

General Manager

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop and grow business within an assigned territory.
• Establishes new accounts and services accounts including cold-calling and identifying potential customers; planning and organizing sales call schedule.
• Respond to technical inquiries from customers with assistance from engineering department, and prospects in a timely manner, addressing any customer troubleshooting or training assistance, requests for quotations, and equipment recommendations
• Proactively contact customers in the sales territory, supporting past products and developing new opportunities
• Prepare cost estimates and proposals by studying drawings, plans, and related customer documents, consulting with engineers and other professional and technical personnel.
• Coordinate multiple projects and work with multiple department personnel to meet deadlines on-time.
• Sales calls, presentations, site visits, and tradeshow attendance

Additional Responsibilities

• Capability to understand technical/application issues, make appropriate recommendations and develop new business opportunities accordingly.
• Participate and take on additional assignments and projects as required.

Education Training

• Plastics machinery and/or industrial sales is preferred but not required

Skills/Technical Requirements

• Strong, persuasive communication skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, writing, presentation, spreadsheet, and email applications.
• Excellent customer relation and team liaison skills
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Must be flexible to adjust priorities as demands change in a dynamic environment
• Valid drivers license required

Travel

• Required, Estimated 10-15%

Physical Demands

This is largely a sedentary role that demands sitting for long periods of time. This job requires frequent use of hands, and repetitive movements.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
