Full description of the position

At NAU our Commercial Account Managers are responsible for day-to-day account management for clients with coverage needs including coverage/policy questions, claims handling, and providing high customer service satisfaction. Our ideal Commercial Insurance Account Manager candidate will possess a wide range of commercial lines account management skills, including but not limited to, customer service, administration, and sales. Candidates with more experience will have a strong understanding of the quoting/remarketing process including new and renewal business. As a member of our team, you will work with multiple carriers, brokers, and customers to create an outstanding customer experience.

Requirements:

  • High School Graduate, College degree preferred.
  • Must hold state Property & Casualty Insurance License
  • Minimum one year experience in similar position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all Property & Casualty insurance coverages, underwriting, and rating concepts.
  • Experience with internet-based programs as well as intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office products.
  • Ability to interact with others effectively and provide information and guidance as needed to keep positive working relationships with coworkers, clients, and vendors.

Responsibilities (primary functions may vary depending upon experience in Commercial Lines):

  • Professionally handle daily communications via phone, email, text, and mail.
  • Obtain renewal and/or new business information.
  • Process insurance applications, endorsements, binders, quotes, rating, certificates, etc.
  • Prepare and submit renewal and/or new business to carriers.
  • Scan all policy information and loss runs into agency management system (AMS360) and complete Loss Data & Large Loss Summary.
  • Check new and renewal policies for accuracy in rating, coverages, signatures, and input into AMS360.
  • Ensure that these items are delivered to the client via email, mail, or Producer.
  • Scan and process endorsements, cancellations and audits as required.
  • Maintain an activity system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports, and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
  • Maintain electronic files in an orderly, up-to-date manner.
  • Aid producers in handling and processing of new and renewal Commercial lines business based on experience.
  • Inform and educate clients about coverage, exclusions, and exposures, documenting electronic files accordingly.
  • Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines
  • Special projects at managements request

Additional Responsibilities for Senior Account Managers / Inside Sales:

  • Market accounts to multiple insurance carriers and brokers.
  • Ability to analyze, negotiate and prepare carrier renewal.
  • Cross-selling / up-selling lines of coverage.
  • Quote and issue Commercial Lines business using company tools.

Qualifications:

  • Team player, self-starter, and detail-oriented with great communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal instruction.
  • Experience using AMS360 Agency Management System preferred.
  • Ability to set priorities and manage workflow to ensure efficient, timely and accurate processing.
  • Experience using laptops, workstation set-ups, and computer-integrated phone systems (softphones) a plus.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $72,000.00 per year
