Pump Application Engineer / Inside Sales

About the Role

We are currently seeking an associate-level application engineer with 2+ years of experience to join our inside sales team, specializing in rotating equipment, mechanical seals, industrial lubricants, and custom-packaged pump systems.

Core Job Responsibilities

• Respond to customer inquiries for pumps and parts.
• Support Sunair Co.s outside sales staff by selecting and quoting equipment.
• Prepare proposals and quotations for customers based on their needs and your product knowledge.
• Select and specify pumps and pump-related equipment, often utilizing computer software selection tools.
• Provide project management for orders requiring special designs, documentation, testing, and inspection from order receipt through customer acceptance.
• Provide technical assistance to Sunair Co.s in-house service department.
• Review and comment on engineering specifications in support of equipment bids.
• Assist with custom-packaged pump skids including conceptual design, equipment specification and selection, component sourcing, project management, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Success in your first year would include mastery of basic pump, mechanical seal, and lubrication concepts, fluency with company CRM and ERP, and developing working knowledge of the company's principal product lines.

Your Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering degree preferred; other technical or business degrees will also be considered.
• 2+ years of successful inside sales / application engineering experience or equivalent work history in any of the industries we serve.
• Proficiency in Autocad, Ironcad, or other 3D design software.
• Experience with any of the following is valuable:
• Pumps and rotating equipment.
• Instrumentation, controls, PLCs, electrical engineering.
• Mechanical seals.
• Lubricants and lubrication.
• Time management and organizational skills, ability to pivot and handle multiple tasks / projects simultaneously.
• Experience using Hubspot CRM, Traverse ERP.

Bonus Points

• Industrial certifications like PSAP, MLA, MLT, CLS, VCAT, CMRP, etc. are a plus.
• Hands-on mechanical aptitude.
• A demonstrated track record for taking initiative, solving problems, and supporting continuous process improvements.
