Exeter Paint and Remodeling is a female owned full-service professional paint and remodeling supply company located in Exeter, NH that has been owned and operated since 1986. By supplying local builders, remodelers, and homeowners with their building needs, we have become a preferred supplier of Home Improvement Materials (Tile, Flooring, Backsplashes, Vanities, Specialty Rugs), Kitchen & Bath Products, Paint, Window Treatments and Wallpaper. We also have a team of contractors under our direction that service our clients for kitchen and bathroom remodels.

We are seeking a mature, creative Designer to join our team to provide aesthetically pleasing in-store decision making with all the product samples in the store. You will work closely with clients to understand their needs and preferences and develop innovative designs that meet their requirements. As a Designer, you will be responsible for developing designs by utilizing color, state of the art home materials and wall coverings for various remodeling projects while interacting with clients to provide excellent customer service. High comfort level in approaching clients and closing the sale is a must. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the design process and collaborate with a dynamic team.

The Ideal Candidate

• The primary responsibility is to meet with homeowners and contractors; listen and understand their needs and recommend the best solution for their home project. We want to offer all our clientele the experience, helping them put together design and colors from floor to ceiling in whatever area of the home they are looking to remodel.
• A MUST: Experience in accurately using a tape measure to do onsite field measures for window treatments and wallpaper. This includes being able to measure overhead and while on a 6-foot ladder.
• The successful candidate must have sales experience, be self-motivated and have the drive to sell.
• Strong math skills
• A team player with the capacity to foster and maintain positive working relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
• Show product features, advantages, and benefits being sure to show all options to fit the clients needs, wants, and budget.
• Follow up on all leads and pending sales to closure.
• Answer all incoming calls promptly and professionally.
• Handle client inquiries with the utmost professionalism; work with owner on any situation that may arise on a project.
• Input and maintain all data related to leads and type sales invoices.
• Must be able to multitask and occasionally help ring out customers purchases.
• Must be computer savvy. Familiarity with the Clover POS system a bonus.
• Work in a positive team player atmosphere with co-workers.
• Must be comfortable on a computer and working independently with clients.
• Meticulous attention to detail, can multitask and work independently.
• Honest, Respectful and Service Oriented required
• Reliable and possesses the ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to effectively convey design concepts.
• Experience with window coverings including drapery is helpful.
• A positive attitude and work ethic
• A valid drivers license, auto insurance, and ability to provide your own transportation for in home customer visits.
