Full description of the position

Pipestone Equipment is coming up on its 16th year of business as a solutions and engineered water products provider within the municipal and industrial markets in the Rocky Mountain region (Montana, Wyoming, Colorado and New Mexico). We deal primarily with valves, water control gates, electrical and pneumatic actuators, pump stations, packaged valve vault systems and surge protection equipment.

We are currently looking for an experienced, creative, customer service oriented Engineered Outside Salesperson. The right person will show a combination of great attention to detail and high energy to successfully work in our fast paced, positive, and rewarding environment.

Territory: Colorado

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining relationships with existing customers by providing support, information and guidance

Managing relationships with contractors, distributors, engineering firms, and end users

Successfully soliciting and securing new customers in municipal and industrial water markets

Meeting product and service sales goals as assigned by company management

Collaborating with inside team and manufacturers to select the proper equipment

Using pricing tools and following internal processes to secure costs for large bids and opportunities

Learning the territory nuances and seeking feedback on the market to determine pricing strategies

Following up on bids and opportunities to ensure customer satisfaction

Scheduling and providing technical training sessions to support project design efforts

Being available and responsive to customers in person, over the phone, via text and through email correspondence while working through sometimes challenging problems and projects

Continuing education of represented products which may include traveling to manufacturers site

Working as part of a team, sharing knowledge, supporting each other, and committed to working together to achieve the common goal of premier customer service

Qualifications:

3-5 years progressively responsible sales experience

Strong attention to detail balanced by the ability to prioritize activities is required

Pump or Valve application engineering, design, or manufacturing background preferred

Experience working with customers in defining product needs

Ability to problem solve to arrive at optimal solutions

Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills

Strong time management skills; may be required to attend additional training

Proficient computer skills required

Travel for sales calls, regional conferences, site visits, or off-site training, required

Valid drivers license with good driving record

Compensation

Base salary, commission, medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, PTO

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job. The position is primarily a sedentary one, with some walking and stair climbing required for customer and jobsite visits. Occasional bending & stooping with lifting of up to 30 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
