Full description of the position
Please note: This position is for various locations in our service areas. MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN ONE OF OUR LOCATIONS. ( HOBOKEN, HAZLEHURST, VIDALIA, AND OR EASTMAN, GA.) THIS IS A FIXED ON SITE JOB WORKING DAILY - MONDAY THRU FRIDAY WITH OCCASSIONAL WEEKEND WORK AS NEEDED.
- Compiles lists of prospective customers for use as sales leads, based on information from newspapers, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, Internet Web sites, and other sources.
- Ensures quality customer service through personal interaction with contractor and retail customers. Personally handles large volume customer accounts as required and assigned.
- Uses in-depth knowledge of product application to assist customers in selecting product for their business. Coordinates product training or demonstrations for customers as needed.
- Quotes prices and credit terms and prepares sales contracts for orders obtained.
- Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's and supplier's production and delivery schedules.
- Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts.
- Works with inside sales and outside sales staff support to keep account activities and literature up to date.
- Monitors and tracks product levels of inventory of product in the store to ensure customers needs are met. Notifies Store Inventory Coordinator or management when new orders are needed.
- Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database.
- Develops and maintains relationships with purchasing contacts.
- Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries, product quality or service.
- Follows Standard Operating Procedures while carrying out the responsibilities of the position.
- Attends store meetings and training sessions as required.
- Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, trade journals, technical procedures, or contractual documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and internal communications. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs and charts. Must be able to perform and comprehend basic business and financial calculations.
- Basic computer skills experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and retail point-of-sale systems.
- Basic and intermediate knowledge of building products and local building codes preferred.
- Meets and adheres to Company driving and licensing requirements for equipment and vehicles. Must be able to use personal vehicle to visit customers, job sites and purchasing offices of prospective and assigned accounts.
