We are looking for Employee Benefits Account Manager

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Employee Benefits Account Manager who will be responsible for the care and services of assigned clients and will work collaboratively with the Producer in managing a book of business by coordinating and providing day-to-day service for employee benefits clients by maintaining client relationships, supporting client retention, maintaining strong carrier relationships and understanding client needs. The Account Manager will provide top-notch service to all clients and work within the Employee Benefits Department team to ensure clients needs are met in a timely fashion.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as client point of contact for day-to-day eligibility, processing claims, billing and overall administration of the employee benefit plan
- Work as a team with Producer and all Account Management Staff
- Assist with the complete servicing of new and existing accounts
- Manage an assigned book of business comprised of accounts ranging in size form 10-200 employees
- Process client applications, terminations, benefit changes
- Work with EASE when necessary and other Ben Admin systems
- Maintain renewal reports, mailing lists, client data sheets, etc.
- Assist with all new business and renewal underwriting and submissions to carriers and handle the process from start to finish
- Possess working knowledge of all major carrier websites
- Must keep up-to-date on all carriers benefit offerings
- Manage all client files including benefit summaries, rates, renewal information, etc.
- Update COBRA rates with TPA
- Update benefits booklets, contribution sheets, etc.
- Work with Producer to coordinate all aspects of renewal process
- Keep current on changes in legislation
- Build and maintain key client and carrier relationships. Assist assigned clients and EB staff with service questions related to benefits administration, transactional processing, billing, claims issues and problem solving, upon request
- Work with Producer, other Account Managers, and Benefits Analyst on all aspects of plan implementation
- Assist clients with compliance as needed
- Provide stellar customer service to our clients by promptly responding to their inquiries and addressing their needs.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 3 years of experience servicing small and large client group health and benefit products with emphasis in small group
- Bachelors degree preferred but not required
- Professional history showing increasing levels of responsibility directly related to the performance of the above duties
- Current technical knowledge and understanding of Employee Benefit federal and state legislation and compliance requirements
- Strong communication skills
- Positive attitude combined with contagious enthusiasm
- Ability to make independent decisions and use good judgment in addressing and servicing client needs
- Understanding of the marketing process
- Strong ability to work both independently and within a team
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (and the willingness to learn and use all computer programs as required)
- Professional demeanor
- Ability to be flexible, multi-task and help with any business need that arises
- Detail oriented
- Highly attuned interpersonal skills
- Maintain a valid unrestricted Life and Disability License in California and meet the continuing education requirements
