Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned.

• Greeting customers and processing customers purchases accurately and efficiently at the point-of-sale

• Effectively enter data into the POS system

• Able to handle cash in a responsible and professional manner

• Housekeeping - keeping shelves clean, dusting, sweeping floors, and cleaning other areas when required.

• Maintaining a neat, clean and organized register area

• Excellent customer service skills

• Answer and direct phone calls

• Cares for plant material including watering, fertilizing, pest management.

• Assist customers in plant selection and interior scape design.

• Daily contact with customers in the shop and on the telephone.

• During contact with customers, questioning and suggesting appropriate floral/gift products

• Entering flower orders and purchases into the computer

• Wrapping and packaging floral products for customers

• Preparing displays with whatever cleaning, trimming, foiling and pricing required.

• Assisting with display set-up and floral presentation

Education and/or Work Experience:

High School diploma/GED preferred. Horticultural experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Prior experience in retail, customer service or other work environment involving contact with the public; Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on an occasional to frequent basis; Ability to spend up to 100% of his/her time standing or moving about register area and the store; Effective verbal and written communication skills; Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others.
