Title: Business Development Officer

Organizational Context:

LEAF in Partnership with Parents in Training was created to provide an intensive trauma responsive, love-based wraparound services program for at-risk adoptive families in California. Our mission is to reduce the parents stress while teaching them how to be therapeutically available to their children. In this manner, we engage the entire family unit in the healing process. We believe healing happens inside the home throughout the diverse network of hidden communication patterns in the various family relationships. In instances that children cannot remain in the house, we provide temporary therapeutic respite services to enable the family to develop a therapeutic, healing environment.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Chief Marketing Officer, the Business Development Officer will establish relationships with post-adoption entities, county social service departments, state adoption agencies and departments and other referral sources at the state and local levels as directed by the CMO. The Business Development Officer will work with Area Managers, Assistant Area Managers and Wrap Care Coordinators to implement the business strategy approved for that County regarding Client Acquisition.

The Business Development Officer is responsible for bringing awareness of the From Fear to Love approach to appropriate entities in the marketplace.

Key function, accountabilities, and related duties:

  • Engages and communicates effectively with all agency employees, youth and their families/legal guardians, and all community partners.
  • Schedules regular visits with targeted referral sources with AM, ASM or Wrap Care Coordinators
  • Delivery of client acquisition target.
  • Under the guidance of the CMO, assists with the development of marketing plans for each county using a relationship building approach.
  • Advocates for youth and their families when needed by attending MDTs, court hearings, IEP/SAT meetings, etc.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA, and risk management policies and procedures including but not limited to completing Incident Reports.
  • Utilizes technology provided in order to perform the job efficiently and effectively.
  • Documents marketing contacts and the results of visits as appropriate in the agency's database.
  • Develops, assists and attends marketing group meetings
  • Meets training requirements as established, including but not limited to, mandated reporting and crisis intervention. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing preferred.
