Your next career move:

We are currently seeking a Director New Business Development to sell contract development and manufacturing services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. Selling is garnered by identifying potential clients, building relationships with new or previous clients providing technical/compliance expertise and providing exceptional customer service to the clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and establish contact with potential clients (this may include previous clients who have moved to a new opportunity)
  • Attend industry trade shows and regional meetings to identify potential sales leads and make meaningful contact with existing or new clients
  • Follow industry trends and news to identify new opportunities for potential sales
  • Recommend marketing strategies to ABPS-SD to target a specific technology, regions or demographics
  • Generate and submit sales reports to management
  • Utilizes technical expertise and expanding customer relationships to identify areas of improvement and new product opportunities
  • Get the sale using various customer sales methods (cold calling, presentations, etc) to initiate the client dialogue. Frequent travel will be required to visit customers in person. Develop a working knowledge of current and potential activities that may affect revenues. Utilize pre-call planning for increased effectiveness.
  • Forecast sales, develop out of the box sales strategies/models and evaluate their effectiveness
  • Evaluate customers' skills, needs and build productive long-lasting relationships.
  • Research accounts and generate or follow through sales leads
  • Attend industry meetings, sales events, tradeshows, and trainings to keep abreast of the latest developments
  • Develops relationships with new clients to understand key applications and generate customer driven product requirements.
  • Achieves or exceeds sales goals and objectives (individual and team) by actively selling to new clients in the field.
  • Calls upon new clients to develop new sales and travel throughout the territory.
  • Presents sales presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Interfaces with quality systems and manufacturing and quality management personnel on issues related to products in the field.
  • Utilizes the CRM database to input and provide information to increase effectiveness and aid sales.
  • Stays current on developments within the industry.
  • Utilizes technical expertise and expands customer relationships to identify areas of improvement and new product opportunities.
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our services, and how they can benefit our customers
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis [or by posted schedule].
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with internal and external business associates that reflects positively on the company and is consistent with the companys policies and practices.
  • Embodies Aji Bio-Pharmas cultural values and aligns daily actions with department goals and company culture.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree required. Life sciences discipline preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience related to sales/business development.
  • Must have previous work experience in a Contract Manufacturing Organization or with the development, manufacturing, or analytical testing of sterile biotechnology products.
  • Previously managed a budget of $10M or greater.
  • Ability to build key customer relationships with the ability to educate and demonstrate technical value propositions.
  • A self-starting personality with a spirit of entrepreneurship
  • Prior experience in sales, particularly in a B2B environment
  • Experience with common customer management relationship software and platforms
  • Understanding of common sales techniques and theory, including sales funnel
  • High aptitude for learning technical and scientific information.
  • Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time (travel requirements will vary based on client needs).
  • Ability to work independently, within prescribed guidelines, or as a team member.
  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications.

The anticipated hourly range for candidates who will work in California is $ $111,961

  • $ $156,745

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the job, type and length of experience within the industry, education, etc. Ajinomoto Bio-Pharma Services is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions that work in other states.
