Full description of the position

For our brand new La Quinta Inn - Downtown Chattanooga

ABOUT THE JOB:

The Sales Manager will be responsible for clerical, administrative and other duties to assist in the smooth operation of Sales in accordance with brand standards and hotel procedures; act as liaison between Hotel sales, internal and external clients and other departments to ensure seamless and efficient execution of contracted events as well as promoting the hotel at trade shows, liaising with travel agencies and following up with clients. He/she will also be responsible for providing attentive, courteous and efficient service to all guests. Responsible for short and long term planning and day-to-day operations of the sales division to achieve customer satisfaction, and meet/exceed sales, revenue and profit objectives.

During the first few days of employment, you will receive important information regarding the performance requirements of your position, company policies, your compensation , plus other information necessary to acquaint you with your job and the company. You will also be asked to complete an I-9 form and present the company with information establishing your identity and your eligibility to work in the United States in accordance with applicable federal laws.

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Answer client / bookers questions about property facilities/services (e.g., hours of operation, rates and room types, packages, promotions, entertainment, restaurants etc.)
  • Serve as the point of contact for clients and communicate with them by phone and email to respond to questions and requests.
  • Responsible for coordinating internally with the sales & marketing team.
  • Generating reports, preparing proposals, collections details , coordinating with clients & suppliers.
  • Prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process (e.g., proposals, contracts, banquet event orders
  • Assist with selling guestrooms, meeting rooms and additional services to companies or groups as needed.
  • Perform hotel site tours with potential clients.
  • Identify and solicit new accounts
  • Design, upload, extract and maintain customer databases.
  • Maintain Sales account files
  • Maintain inventory of Sales collateral, supplies and amenities

REQUIRED ATTRIBUTES:

  • Proven experience in sales; experience as a sales coordinator or in other administrative positions will be considered a plus.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Good computer skills.
  • Ability to work independently and with others with a high level of dedication.
  • Well-organized and responsible with an aptitude in problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Displays good initiative.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules, including weekends and various shifts.
  • Certification in sales or marketing will be an asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the sales/marketing hospitality industry. Knowledge and initiative required for complex problems and efficient sales activities.
  • Must possess highly developed communication skills to frequently negotiate, convince, sell and influence other personnel, hotel guest(s) and/or corporate clients.
  • Requires ability to investigate and analyze current activities and/or information involving readily available data and indicating logical conclusions and recommendations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
