Schedule: Open Monday through Sunday availability

Our teams alternate. However, this role requires you to work most weekends, and a minimum of 40 hours a week.

Guaranteed Days Off: Thanksgiving Day & Christmas Day

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Our Sales Consultants typically work indoors in a showroom or office environment. The atmosphere can be fast-paced, especially during peak business hours.

Outdoor Elements:

Some aspects of the job may involve outdoor activities, such as moving vehicles around the lot or demonstrating features during test drives, which could expose salespeople to various weather conditions all year round; exposure to heat in the summer and/or cold , wind, and rain during winter.

Physical Demands:

The job may involve standing for extended periods, walking around the showroom and lot and occasionally lifting or moving items such as promotional materials.

Customer Interactions:

Dealing with a diverse range of customers requires good communication and interpersonal skills. Conflict resolution may be a valuable skill to have.

Training and Development:

Continuous training is often part of the job to stay updated on new models, features, financing options, aftermarket products, and sales techniques. At Galpin we provide ongoing training to our Sales Consultants.

Technology Use:

This role requires use of technology, including computers, tablets, and customer relationship management (CRM) software, to manage leads, track sales, and communicate with customers.

Dress Code:

Professional attire is usually required, and Sales Consultants are expected to adhere to a specific dress code in accordance with company policy.

Team Collaboration:

While the role is somewhat independent, collaboration with other members of the sales team and coordination with other departments, such as finance and service, is common.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• 3+ years in a hard or soft sale position (any field, automotive highly desired!)
• Valid CA Driver's License
• Active Occupational Sales License OR eligibility to acquire one immediately after hire
• Pass all preliminary screenings (Background Check and Drug Screen)
• Ability to furnish documents for eligibility to work in the US upon hire

Skills:

• Strong sales skills with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding targets
• Excellent customer service abilities to provide a positive buying experience
• Proficient in negotiation techniques to secure favorable deals for both the dealership and the customer
• Knowledge of automotive sales processes and industry trends
• Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate pricing calculations
• Experience in outside sales activities to generate leads and expand customer base
• Effective phone etiquette for clear and professional communication with customers
• Confident public speaking skills to deliver persuasive presentations
• Ability to manage a sales pipeline and prioritize leads effectively

***Base pay is $34,902.40 a year ($16.78 hourly assuming the 40 hours within the 52 weeks of the year) + Commissions. Commissions have been estimated to bring our Sales Consultants gross earnings between $37,543.11 - $699,312.00 a year across all locations. Actual gross earnings will vary on commissioned and performance efforts. The estimated earning range is a reflection of our current lowest and highest earning employees in the role who have remained employed year to date.***
