At DSD Merchandisers we distribute and merchandise organic, all-natural, and conventional bulk products to customers in partnership with premium grocery stores. We've been in business for over 20 years, growing from two to over 100 with offices up and down the West Coast and we're expanding into Montana and the surrounding states!
If you are based in the Billings, MT, area, have grocery merchandising experience, work well with minimal supervision, enjoy driving and helping customers grow, this job may be for you! Mileage is reimbursed.
Our Account/Sales Manager position is key to growing our DSD footprint in Montana and the surrounding states. Working closely with our Merchandising Manager, this professional will significantly contribute to sales growth, improvement of customer operations and management of client relationships.
DSD Merchandisers is a rapidly growing, dynamic business. The following describes the roles current responsibilities and will change according to the companys needs and goals.
In this role, you are responsible for the following in your assigned market area:
Managing store presence; DSD retail presentation
- Overseeing work across territories for quality/consistency (cleanliness, fullness, rotation) via in-person visits, remote oversight, communication with stores, DSD personnel, and customers
- Working with customers and DSD team to resolve in-store issues (deliveries, merchandising, special events, requests)
Training the Retail team as needed
- Establishing standards for merchandising and retail presentation
- Communicating and teaching these standards to store personnel as needed
Growing (net) sales
- Visiting and improving poor-performing stores, districts, and customers
- Working with store personnel to grow sales, identify and solve problems
- Training stores re: properly handling and merchandising product, working through issues and raising standards in pursuit of better per-store performance
Special projects and program setup
- Owning rollouts for new programs, including technical setup, decision-making, and in-store setup
- Organizing operations as needed for new programs
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- DSD customer sales; overall sales performance, growth, resilience, and consistency
- Customer satisfaction -- request turnaround times, # of issues, qualitative feedback
Physical Requirements (with or without accommodations):
- Ability to walk, bend down repeatedly, and be on feet for 8-10 hours a day
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. overhead and repeatedly
- Ability to drive for multiple hours, you must have a valid Driver's License, reliable transportation, personal vehicle insurance, and a clean DMV record
- Ability to stay overnight to make customer calls
