The Retail Sales Associate is responsible for general customer service and cashiering duties. This position sets the tone for a culture of outstanding customer service in the store and in the community, being open to and concerned with the retail needs of the community in the spirit of a community-owned mercantile.

Essential Functions

• Support the mission and values of QMC when interacting with internal and external customers
• Assist customers on the sales floor
• Cashier using Point of Sale system
• Assist in store opening, that registers are ready and in good order for the start of business
• Stock shelves, merchandise and maintain displays
• Ensure cash drawers are funded
• Alert manager on merchandise needs such as re-orders and special orders
• Keep bags and supplies full and orderly in cashier areas
• Keep retail space and entryways swept and clean, front doors clear of fingerprints, etc.
• Assist with loss prevention through discreet customer service, good attention and routine tours through the store
• Know and adhere to store policies and procedures
• Participate in store inventories as requested
• Attend all staff meetings as scheduled
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Experience in a customer service field, preferably retail utilizing excellent customer service skills
• Cashiering experience is a plus
• Availability to work weekends and evenings
• Ability to work well with others and respond well to direction

Pay: $16.50 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 40 per week
