Full description of the position

The Opportunity

In this role, you will report to the Supervisor, Onsite Services and will work closely with the Avantors Lab and Production Services team of over 1,500 on- and off-site expert personnel and our customers to perform customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Available Shift: Mon Fri, 7 am 4 pm
Wage: $21 - 23 per hour
Location: Hillsboro, OR

What were looking for

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in a cleanroom desired.
• 2+ years experience in inventory replenishment, purchasing, customer service, and/or material handling required.
• Excellent attention to detail required.
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word and Excel required. SAP experience strongly desired.
• Proficient in data capture, analysis, and reporting utilizing various IT systems desired.
• Project management skills, ability to change direction and handle multiple responsibilities and tasks on a regular basis required.
• Strong customer service skills with can-do demeanor with an exceptionally high level of commitment to the success of projects, team members, customers, and the service provision required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, work collaboratively, and achieve goals required.
• Effective communication (verbal & written) with both internal and external contacts required.
• Self-motivated with the ability to self-manage and think proactively required.
• Adaptable to emerging best practices and industry innovations required.
• Problem solving capabilities with the confidence to act required.
• High regard for safety, quality, protocols, policies, and procedures required.
• Willingness to conform to all company and customer requirements for background checks, safety issues, and security clearances required.
• Spill containment training, IATA, ADR, DOT, IMDG and OSHA Right to Know preferred.
• Cross referencing and inside sales experience a plus.
• Knowledge of Avantor products and services a plus.

In this role you will

Key Tasks

• Ensuring compliance of activities performed in adherence with defined schedules and quality within a specified area including acting and reporting on deviations.
• Point of contact for customer issues pertaining to inventory stock and dispatching samples.
• Creation and maintenance of service delivery, compliance, and training documentation.
• Report on KPIs, metrics, SLAs and weekly tasks.
• Analyze reports, measurements, and external benchmarks to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Central Stores & Procurement

• Support the day to day running of the onsite stores and goods inwards services inclusive of solvents, chemicals, consumables, and specialist scientific products.
• Receipt, replenishment, and distribution of inventory to meet end user demands, utilizing industry-leading inventory management technology to track usage and continually optimize stocking levels
• Ensuring that stores requisitions are issued from the inventory management system.
• Carrying out regular Stock checks on stores inventory.
• Ensure accuracy of data in the inventory system including location, quantity on hand, value etc.
• Create procedures and reporting for the effective management of inventory, demonstrating cost savings.
• Trouble-shooting inventory management system problems.
• Liaison with procurement and external suppliers to leverage best price, and proactively managing consignment stock.
• Procurement of specialist products using customers purchasing platform.
• Broad understanding of products and keeping up to date with external benchmarks.
• Ensuring Non stores goods are received and recorded into relevant Goods In and End Users are notified that goods have arrived.
• Regular reviews with customers to ensure right products are stocked.

Logistics Procedures

• Traverse daily deliveries from various couriers into Central Stores area daily.
• Cross reference parcels using in house software functionality to align deliveries.
• Maintains safe routes for deliveries of goods and equipment onsite.
• Track orders via courier groups to ensure delivery of supply chain.
• Work collaboratively with suppliers and vendors to problem solve order progression.
• Other duties as assigned.
