POSITION DESCRIPTION

Applications Engineer

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Job Description:

Bry-Air is a privately owned & operated small business, headquartered in Sunbury, Ohio. We are a leading global manufacturer of desiccant dehumidifier products and custom air handlers for technically complex applications with critical quality requirements. Our equipment is sometimes part of a turnkey package of dry rooms that we sell to Lithium-ion battery manufacturers. We sell to customers throughout the world.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Applications Engineer.

Responsibilities:

1. Using customer provided data, calculate sensible and latent loads, select a desiccant based dehumidification system, and create a system flow diagram.

2. Develop efficient, cost-effective technical that meets customers requirements.

3. Build a knowledge base across all the markets we provide equipment in.

4. Participate in customer design meetings.

5. Interface with customers on engineering matters and propose improvements and solutions.

6. Provide costing and completed quote to the sales manager for each project you are involved in.

7. Read through and select equipment based on customer provided drawings and technical specifications.

8. Create hand-off documentation for sold equipment for engineering use. Lead hand-off meeting with the mechanical and electrical engineering team.

Qualifications:

Education -

1. BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience and demonstrated performance.

Experience

1. Engineering experience in desiccant dehumidification highly preferred.

2. Comprehensive understanding of psychometrics and the properties of air.

3. Prior design experience, preferably with a custom engineered product.

4. Previous selection, sizing, and design of various system components

5. A demonstrated working knowledge of HVAC equipment operation and design practices. In time, a thorough knowledge of the companys products, equipment capabilities and engineering disciplines can be demonstrated.

6. An ability to communicate messages and technical information in both verbal and written formats; effectively instructing or persuading; making effective presentations.

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt salaried position that includes a comprehensive benefits package. Salary $60,000 to $85,000 based on experience.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
