Job Narrative:
As the Sales Manager, you are ultimately responsible for leading a sales team that identifies, nurtures, and secures roofing projects in our markets that meet our profile and lead to successful customer and profitable company experiences.
Leadership Accountabilities
- Departmental and personnel leadership: Take pride in setting others up for success
- Responsibility for all Project Coordinators (9 and growing)
- Guidance to Estimators on construction needs and individual project cases
- Take ownership of self-generated lead process across the team
- Business decision-making with consideration of impact to all departments and Leadership team, including staffing & budgeting responsibilities, etc.
- Deliver on Rhoden Roofings commitment to all customers leading to exceptional 5-star reviews online
Specific Responsibilities and Job Duties:
- Provide leadership and develops teamwork in the Sales Department within EOS (Entrepreneurial Operating System) team framework
- Develop sales plans and forecasting to support the overall company revenue goals
- Responsible for tactics and strategies to support the achievement of sales forecasts and goals
- Assure sales funnel is continuously maintained and updated
- Ensure team uses the Rhoden Roofing sales process
- Review and approves sales proposals on major projects
- Foster team and company culture by leading all sales activities and meetings
- Teach and continually reinforces Customer-Focused Selling to best service the customer
- Spends 1-on-1 time with Project Coordinators coaching and training to improve sales skills
- Perform quarterly performance evaluations and goal setting with all department team members
- Represent Rhoden Roofing in events, including networking and social events
- Continually increases Project Coordinators project file (Firewall) approval and win rate percentages
- Actively participate in Rhoden Roofing Leadership L10, quarterly EOS, and State of the Company meetings
About You:
The Sales Manager role requires a combination of construction management and business leadership skills, leading at all times with a customer-first mentality. Specific skills include:
Required:
- 10 years of construction and/or construction management experience (roofing experience not necessary)
- Minimum 10 years sales experience
- 5 years of team/personnel (sales force preferred) management experience
- Able to work independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
- Proficiency in current computer technology plus the ability to learn new systems
- Excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills
- Must work with and influence others to accomplish goals
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to climb a ladder and transfer to a sloped roof surface
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Enthusiastic ability to teach/train team members new skills
- Great conceptual planning, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literacy: email, Excel, Word, and CRM system
- Detailed financial literacy including budget creation, data and metric reporting, business performance
- High initiative and accountability
- Attention to personnel safety and experience in safety management
Preferred:
- Spanish language proficiency is not required but is a bonus
- Existing fluency with JobNimbus CRM is a plus
- Experience hiring and training personnel
- Experience with mergers and acquisitions is a plus
- Monday.com project management experience is a plus
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/construction plans
- Bachelors degree or technical degree in construction science, business management, or related field
