Sales Manager at the Riverside Convention Center

Job Description:

This role is client facing and will be responsible for facilitating technological discussions and overseeing solution development for internal, complex audio-visual events. The Sales Manager will be directly working with the Convention Center staff and customers to create audio-visual (AV) contracts and sell AV services to clients of the Convention Center.

The Sales Manager will provide technical expertise on integrated audio-visual event technologies in Convention Center rooms, assist with providing solutions for virtual events, and assist with the setting, operating, and striking of events.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Create audio-visual contracts for all Convention Center events that require in-house AV service.
  • Responsibility for sales either directly or indirectly at the property, makes sales calls as needed, generates quotes and corresponds with clients regarding AV orders.
  • Responds to venue representatives and clients in a timely manner.
  • Works closely with clients to ensure audio visual needs are met for a successful meeting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients at all levels of their organization and provide outstanding customer service while focusing on customer retention.
  • Service high profile/visibility events and act as a point of escalation when needed.
  • Walk-throughs with clients to showcase different convention center meeting spaces/ballrooms.
  • Strategically ensure event profitability is maintained based on proper staffing per event.
  • Confirm operations team is using inventory control procedures to maintain proper inventory levels while also maintaining safety, security, and quality assurance of equipment.
  • Arrange for additional labor, services and equipment as needed.
  • May oversee daily floor operation including room sets/strikes.
  • Leads, performs, and reinforces customer service standards to AV team.
  • Maintain adequate staffing levels.
  • Address employee concerns or questions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma is required. Bachelors degree is preferred.

- 3+ years of experience in sales

- 3+ years of experience in audio and video

- 3+ years of customer service

- **Familiarity with IntelliEvent software preferred**

- Advanced knowledge and experience with audio/visual setups/strikes, certification in audiovisual technology or related courses. (preferred)

- Planning Skills able to effectively plan ahead

- Organization Skills ability to manage multiple projects, tasks, and staff

- Exceptional customer service or hospitality experience required

- A valid drivers license and clean driving record is required for team members in positions that may operate Company vehicles.

Physical:

- Able to lift 50lbs or more based on average equipment weight.

- Familiar with Audio-Visual safety protocols

- OSHA 30 preferred

**This position is eligible to earn commission**

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $84,000.00 per year
