The Director of Sales is responsible for the daily sales efforts and responsible for the overall positioning of the hotel, brand communication and the development of customers for the property. In addition, they are responsible for rental revenue, yield strategies, implementation, market performance and meeting budget, forecast, and optimal business mix targets. Strategies will include pricing, status, direct sales, market mix, marketing, and public relations. This position is on-site. Candidates must have a dynamic leadership style, possessing excellent communication and decision making skills and an astute business acumen.
Position Responsibilities:
Prepares Sales Reports and annual Sales & Marketing Plan
Creates an effective Sales Program that will increase awareness and positive perception of the Hotel and its activities,
Knowledge of travel industry, current market trends and economic factors
Suggests innovative marketing ideas and develops deployment strategies to continue to grow market share.
Participates in sales calls with members of the Sales and Marketing team to acquire new business and/or close on business.
Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
Monitors the effective resolution of guest issues that arise as a result of the sales process by creating mechanisms to channel issues to property leadership and/or other appropriate stakeholders.
Works with management team to create and implement a sales plan addressing revenue, customers and the market for the segment
Ensure hotel meets or exceeds budgeted goals.
Follow and track company cross-sell procedures.
Assists with the development and implementation of promotions, both internal and external.
Creating a focus on attracting new business.
Attending and contributing to the monthly sales strategy meeting
Responsible for the training of sales manager and staff.
Follow and promote hotel standards with guests, co-workers.
Evaluates and drives the hotels participation in the various sales channels, Market Sales, Event Booking Centers, electronic lead channels, etc.
Implements the brands service strategy and applicable brand initiatives in all aspects of the sales process and focuses on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of the hotels sales objectives.
Identifies public relations opportunities and coordinates activities to augment the overall marketing communication strategy.
Maintains successful performance by increasing revenues, controlling expenses and providing a return on investment.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major; 4 - 5 years experience in the sales and marketing or related professional area.
Hotel sales experience.
Hotel industry work experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $95,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
