Outside Sales Director - Manufacturing
Turbo Machined Products, Inc. a leading manufacturer in the Aerospace, Power Generation space seeks accomplished Sales and New business Development leader with experience and contacts in Aerospace and Power Generation fields. The Sales Director will source and develop high quality leads, manage the RFI and RFP process, help develop winning proposals, and ensure we have prioritized and executed on customer service, quality and delivery. Turbo Machined Products is located in Frankfort, New York but this role can be performed remotely from Connecticut or Ohio markets.
Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Evaluate market and competitor landscape.
- Identify and generate high-quality sales leads, follow up after initial contact, secure and renew orders, negotiate prices, complete sales, and support timely deliveries.
- Develop ongoing synergistic relationships.
- Participate in strategic sales calls, trade shows, and sales events.
- Follow targeted sales action plan and assist in adaptation of plan based on market developments.
- Establish timelines and build matrices for RFP responses, many of which will have short turnaround times, coordinating with multiple departments to produce compliant and timely results.
- Spearhead cost estimating by studying all related customer documents, collaborating with internal material and engineering teams to understand cost impact of customer requirements and provide sales support.
- Interact with various departments to ensure the sales team objectives are realized and met.
- Solicit and log client feedback, evaluating the data to refine processes and elevate service.
- Contribute to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
- Along with other leaders in the executive team create a business culture of teamwork which is results oriented, customer focused, and driven to deliver quality products.
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of a BS or BA degree and 5 years of related technical sales experience.
- Sales experience in in a manufacturing environment required. Aerospace, power generation experience preferred.
- Exceptional organizational/project management skills
- Outstanding ability to collaborate with colleagues across departments
- Strong computer skills in Salesforce, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Willing and able to travel domestically up to 50% (as safety and restrictions permit)
- Must demonstrate a sense of urgency, attention to detail, commitment and follow-through while maintaining confidentiality and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and ability to adapt to a rapidly change environment
