In 1979, the Rhode Island Blood Center was established by the hospitals in Rhode Island as a private, not for profit agency to collect, test, and distribute blood products. Today, the Rhode Blood Center is a division of New York Blood Center and is among the nation's premium providers of blood products and services and an integral part of the Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts community's health care systems. As of December 2018, the Rhode Island Blood Center employs approximately 320 full- and part-time employees. Responsibilities:
Summary:
The Account Manager is responsible for managing assigned accounts/territories through planning, developing, and promoting blood donor recruitment activities; for educating donors, sponsors, and community regarding donor recruitment and NYBC enterprise-wide activities to meet patient needs.

Essential Functions:
  • Accountable for achieving blood collection goals through blood drives and donor center events, accurate projection rates and efficient donor scheduling for assigned accounts in adherence to all department guidelines and performance to achieve cost effective blood drives.
  • Manages daily blood drive recruitment activities to identify and resolve issues affecting achievement of daily collection goals and quality customer services. This includes interfacing with other Donor Resources staff and other departments, sponsors and volunteers.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations, organizes, develops and educates sponsors, coordinators and recruitment committees provides appropriate support and materials for effective blood drive promotion. Participates in the planning of special recruitment events, sponsor/donor recognition programs and sponsor workshops.
  • Develops and evaluates sponsor accounts to achieve maximum donor participation: Identifies potential markets, prospects, evaluates, qualifies, and develops recruitment/sales methodologies for new sponsor accounts to ensure ongoing expansion of the donor base.
  • Develops and maintains accurate and updated information on assigned accounts.
  • Function as a steward of the brand by increasing visibility and participation in community events, chambers and member organizations. As a subject matter expert on blood industry topics, you may speak at conferences or relevant industry/interest group meetings.
  • Works as part of a team to support open territories and key accounts.
  • Participates actively on various projects within the department including, but not limited to the high school workshops, education events, award luncheons, etc.
  • Provide applicable training to new Account Managers.
  • Flexibility in hours worked including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Any related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience (four to six years) with emphasis in one or more of the following areas: Sales, public relations, management, education/and or business development.

Qualifications:
Two years of experience in sales, marketing, and/or customer service experience preferred
Valid Drivers License. Must have own vehicle in reliable condition

Local travel 50+% of the time

Any combination of education, training and experience that has supplied the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the essential functions of the job.


The proposed annual salary is $57,530 to $66,000 p/yr
Offers made to an individual candidate will depend on a variety of factors, including experience, skills, and job-related education.
