Full description of the position

Position Title: Producer

Type: Full Time Position; Exempt

Location: Any

Job Summary:

The Producer position is a sale oriented, communication heavy role, that through training, becomes a wealth of knowledge for insurance products available through the agency. The Producer is responsible for pursuing and closing sales of new and existing clients. In this role, candidates can expect to perform the essential functions noted below, while meeting the quality and service standards developed by the agency.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for identification and prospecting of potential new policy holders
  • Sell a wide array of insurance solutions and risk services to new and assigned customers, with a support team of experts and skilled professionals to assist
  • Implement a strategy for growth of new clients and existing client accounts
  • Set and meet new business revenue goals
  • Manage assigned book of business and client needs
  • Improve client interactions through the development of proactive services and timelines for high-ranking clients
  • Continuously develop and apply product knowledge, market changes, and underwriting skills
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions to client insurance programs
  • Engage with clients to discuss service needs, billing, and coverage questions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate both orally and in written communication
  • Can interpret abstract information and respond accordingly
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Confident, self-starter who works well independently
  • Must have exceptional organization and time-management skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suites or similar software

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required, some higher education is preferred
  • Demonstrated Business to Business (B2B) sales experience, inclusive of researching, prospecting, and positive client interactions is highly desired

Physical Requirements:

Work is typically performed in an interior office environment, in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods. Limited physical effort required or exposure to physical risk, however employees should be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
