Senior Director, National Accounts - This position is based in our Ewing, NJ office, requiring 3 days onsite (or can be remote, if not within 50 miles of Ewing but with 50% travel required)

How you will make an impact
As the Senior Director, National Accounts you develop and implement managed care strategies while building long term profitable relationships for the companys commercial assets including securing and maintaining favorable formulary access within assigned accounts; covering all market access channels as needed. These may include but are not limited to targeted payer GPOs, PBMs, MCOs and contracted Specialty Pharmacies. You work closely with cross-functional teams and Field Sales Managers to develop and implement strategies and lead pull-through initiatives to maximize formulary positioning within contracted accounts and work with leadership on the development of Market Access and Reimbursement strategies and lead all aspects of the implementation of tactics across all channels and by major customers.
In this role, youll have the opportunity to:
  • Lead and advocate for Market Access strategic and tactical planning activities and assist in developing managed market messaging for brands, ensuring alignment across the organization.
  • Develop, implement, and refine payer opportunities and access strategies for key accounts ensuring profitable access and reimbursement.
  • Optimize the products formulary positioning and increase product market share via leadership of collaborative pull-through initiatives with field sales and brand marketing.
  • Assist with implementation of contracts, including rebate payments and projections.
  • Deliver slide decks and associated resources to include value proposition and other supporting payer marketing tools.
  • Provide other account management services that optimize patient access while mitigating potential barriers.
  • Work with clinical, medical, pharmacy, and / or executive advocates to influence functions of customers business.
  • Promote and differentiate Commercial product (s) to key executives and decision makers within assigned accounts.
  • Profile payers within assigned strategic accounts, develop account specific strategic business plans, and provide business updates and reviews.
  • Effectively manage budgets and project timelines as needed.
To succeed in this role, youll need:
  • Minimum of BS with 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, (a combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Extensive experience with Managed Markets responsibilities
  • Working relationships with Payer GPOs, MCOs, PBMs and other customer channels
  • Product marketing experience with emphasis on managed markets, access, and reimbursement
  • Strong presentation skills required.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and third-party contract organizations.
  • MBA preferred.

The most likely base pay range for this position is $199K to $298K per year. Several factors, such as experience, tenure, skills, and particular business needs, will determine an individuals exact level of compensation. Base salary is only one element of employee compensation at Halozyme. Total compensation could include bonuses, sales incentives, and equity awards.
