Highly reputable Foodservice Distributor in the Middle Atlantic region for over 60 years, located in Glen Burnie, Maryland, is seeking an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative (OSR) to close sales through a face-to-face interaction with customers based within assigned territories. The OSR will meet with potential and existing customers to inform them about the companys products, negotiate prices, and resolve customer complaints if any arise.

We currently have multiple positions to fulfill in the territories of Salisbury - MD, Chestertown - MD, Middletown - DE, Dover - DE.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities, presenting product offerings, negotiating contracts, and closing deals.

Meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals set by the company.

Actively seek out new business opportunities within the territory, targeting restaurants, cafes, hotels, catering companies, institutions, and other foodservice establishments.

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing foodservice clients, understanding their needs, and proactively addressing any issues to ensure long-term satisfaction and loyalty.

Manage a designated sales territory, ensuring regular visits to existing customers and actively prospecting new potential clients to expand the customer base.

Provide exceptional customer service and support to clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring their ongoing satisfaction.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activities, customer interactions, and prospecting efforts.

Actively manage customers open receivables. Track outstanding invoices and coordinating with clients to ensure prompt, accurate settlement.

Reconciling discrepancies, addressing customer inquiries, and collaborating with internal teams to mitigate delinquencies to align with the companys days outstanding target.

Develop a deep understanding of our product offerings, including food items, beverages, equipment, and services, and effectively communicate their value propositions to potential and existing customers.

Keep abreast of industry trends, competitors, and market conditions. Use market insights to tailor sales strategies and gain a competitive advantage.

Work closely with Management, Product Specialist, and marketing teams to develop effective promotional strategies, attend trade shows, and participate in company-wide sales initiatives.

Continuously seek ways to improve sales processes, customer engagement, and overall performance. Provide feedback to management for the enhancement of products and services.

ABOUT YOU:

A strong understanding of the foodservice industry, including knowledge of different types of food establishments and their operational needs.

Experience in managing and prioritizing a sales territory to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver persuasive sales presentations.

Proficient in negotiation techniques and contract management.

Must show interest in the foodservice industry and a passion for providing exceptional service to customers.

Demonstrated success in generating new business, building customer relationships, and meeting sales targets.

Availability to travel within the assigned territory to meet clients and prospects, as well as attend industry events and trade shows.

Customer focus: provide outstanding customer service, must have excellent communication skills.

Take responsibility for exercising independent judgment within areas of responsibility.
