Events Sales Manager

Job Summary: The Events Sales Manager is responsible for the sales and execution of events between our two hotel properties in our dynamic restaurants and rooftop spaces. This positions focus is to increase sales through targeted market outreach and developing and maintaining community, industry, and client relationships, as well as ensuring all events are executed to Ten Fives standards of hospitality.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Increase awareness and drive additional business to the specific venue through outreach
  • Actively solicits new business opportunities by conducting in-person, phone, and email outreach, site tours, prospecting events, and client entertaining
  • Generate sales and maximizes revenue by developing and maintaining long-term relationships with clients
  • Become involved in outside organizations directly related to the industry
  • Monitor sales and continually develop strategies to maximize revenue and closing sales deals
  • Achieves monthly sales goals
  • Attend local trade shows, participate in sales blitzes and other offsite sales efforts
  • Handle initial inquiries in a timely manner
  • Send events deck, email, and menu/events proposals to clients
  • Update sales management system with all contacts, leads, both tentative and definite
  • Responsible for event planning and management of all events
  • Resolving issues and conflicts between customer and event team, with the support of upper management
  • Create and distribute Special Event Orders and floor plans to operations team
  • Ensure staffing levels are met for all events
  • Work with Operations team regarding event setup needs
  • Ensure all accounting paperwork is accurate; collecting all monies prior to the event, handling invoices
  • Attend weekly meetings/conference calls with operations management and sales team to review upcoming events for the week and attend preshift with the staff on nights of events
  • Participate in training as directed by Director of Sales
  • Must have comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage, service standards, and guest relations
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and organize in a fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Candidates must have flexible availability to work any shift, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and late hours when necessary.
  • Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving and solutions-oriented decision making skills.
  • Must be able to assist with general event setup and breakdown, which may include lifting, carrying, and transporting supplies, etc.
  • Attend monthly P&L meetings.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of sales and events experience, at least 2 from restaurant or hotel environments.
  • California Food Handlers certified.
  • RBS certified.
  • Basic mathematical skills including AR and P&L statements
  • Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Work, databases)
  • Basic understanding of legal contract language
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and late hours when necessary.
  • Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
  • Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
  • Be attentive, accountable, and highly organized.
  • Must have the ability to plan multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Possess excellent phone skills and be guest service oriented and proactive.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and professional demeanor and composure at all times.
  • Ability to be friendly, engaging, gracious, and the ability to focus and connect with all guests and team members and exceed their expectations.
  • Have an upbeat, energetic, authentic, positive, and professional attitude at all times.
  • Know how to participate in a team environment and assist other departments when needed, providing lateral service.

Physical Requirements:

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance and heavier lifting or movement tasks with assistance.
  • Move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladders.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling/pushing, and stooping. Enter and locate work-related information using computers. Perform other job duties as requested.
  • Must show proof of vaccination against Covid-19.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,000.00 per year
