What You'll Do
As an Incubation Cybersecurity Sales Specialist (ICSS), you will play a critical role on a team that operates like a start-up with unique access to Ciscos resources, industry leadership, and scale. Incubation is a team within the Global Security Sales Organization (GSSO) that is responsible for selling new Cisco Security products to early adopters and helping prepare for broader global distribution of the product.
Cisco Security is consistently launching innovative products in the market, with four new products introduced in the last 12 months and more to come. These new products help Cisco's customers adopt a more effective defense against the world's most sophisticated cyber threats.
The first product you will be responsible for in this role is a network security solution for modern applications. This requires a solid understanding of customer value drivers related to network security for modern platform architectures and the related trends and market landscape. You will apply a hunting mentality to generate pipeline and revenue for this new product with a thoughtful go-to-market strategy for new and existing Cisco Security customers across an assigned territory.
Who You'll Work With
This is a high-profile role that requires you to collaborate closely with other GSSO Sales teams as well as with Product Management, Marketing, Channel, Operations, and Strategy & Planning teams to successfully launch and scale the new product. Success in this cross-functional role requires both focus and flexibility as you quickly experiment with and iterate on ways to achieve your goals. You will be accountable for helping prove product-market fit by working iteratively on the ideal customer profile and go-to-market strategy for achieving the products revenue targets.
Who You Are
We are looking for a sales professional with a record of accomplishing success in the following areas:
- Creating and executing an account-based territory plan that consistently generates sales opportunities for a network security software product, ideally with an annual contract value of $250K+
- Generating consistent quarterly growth in bookings for a network security software product, ideally with an annual contract value of $250K+
- Maintaining an organized and data-informed view of the business in terms of target accounts, business plans, sales meetings, pipeline, and forecast
- Communicating regularly with Product Management & Sales Engineering to ensure sales pursuits are focused on the ideal customer profile, while helping inform the roadmap and evolution of the ideal customer profile as the product evolves
- Collaborating with Marketing to plan, execute, and convert digital and in-person regional events into sales opportunities and bookings
- Building productive relationships with other internal sales teams and channel partners to gain mindshare and market share for a new product
In addition to the achievements summarized above, you should also have demonstrated experience:
- Selling cybersecurity software solutions for cloud-native applications
- Leading customer conversations with an understanding of business value drivers, platform architectures, and the underlying infrastructure (whether on-prem, cloud, multi-cloud, or hybrid)
- Effectively using listening, presentation, and writing skills to drive action with customers, partners, and internal teams
- Applying a sense of urgency, focus, and operational rigor to build the business for a new product
- Exceptional problem-solving, time-management, and communication skill

Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:
.75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;
1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;
1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.
For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
