The Sr. Staff Accountant will report directly to the CFO and will be responsible for supporting the accounting functions for Enova Illumination business activities. You must be self-motivated, detail oriented, proactive and able to work under minimal supervision. Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting activities
- Assist in the monthly close process
- Organize and review a variety of financial data
- Prepare monthly financial statements and analyses for management
- Recurring journal entries maintenance and reconciliation
- Thorough experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
- Impromptu reporting and special projects, when requested
- Participate in various department-wide initiatives
- Work with CFO to manage all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting and revenue recognition.
- Work with CFO to develop financial strategy, including risk minimization plans and opportunity forecasting.
- Work with CFO to develop an annual financial budget/plan and monthly/quarterly reporting and forecasting.
- Bring strong financial stability through monthly and annual close processes, internal controls, cost discipline and forecasting accuracy.
- Work with CFO to provide advice on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, benchmarks, and other matters with management.
- Analyze and report results on daily/weekly/monthly KPIs.
- Work with VP of Finance to organize and prepare information for and communication with external tax accountants and auditors.
- Assist with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
- Work with CFO to oversee company compliance with all additional legal and regulatory requirements.
Key Job Requirements:
- BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting or Finance Degree
- 3+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
- Knowledgeable of general ledger and ERP systems, NetSuite preferred
- Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
- Inventory and cost accounting for light assembly and manufacturing
- Familiar with sales and use tax returns
- Calculating and preparing monthly sales commissions
- Oversee customer credit and accounts receivable
- Understanding of international shipping, tariffs and customs
- Experience with equity management software
- Solid organizational, written and verbal communication skills
- Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
- Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlinesBachelors degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
- Excellent computer skills;
- Must have excellent attention to detail along with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work under pressure given time constraints.
- Ability to analyze financial data to draw conclusions and drive results.
- Familiarity with Netsuite (CRM) a plus
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
