Accounts Management Specialist
Account Management Specialist
Successful multi-state supplier of construction materials based in Jackson, Mississippi is seeking an individual experienced in all aspects of accounts receivables to join our Accounts Receivable Team. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Manage credit accounts in an environment in which a typical customer has multiple projects ongoing at one time. Accept, analyze and post customer payments accurately, maintain accurate credit account balances, and communicate with customers when necessary to answer questions and resolve billing issues.
Reconcile invoices and payments on customer credit accounts to identify and address billing issues. Communicate professionally with customers and internal teammates to resolve billing questions.
Monitor past-due credit balances and proactively coordinate with internal teammates and/or customers to collect payments.
Work with AR Team Leader to track deadlines to file material liens on real properties relating to past-due invoices. Complete lien documentation and coordinate filing when required to avoid losing legal rights.
Compile and coordinate issuance of demand letters for payment. When needed and approved, forward collection matters and relevant documentation to legal counsel.
Assist with month-end closing process.
Collaborate and assist AR Team Lead and management with AR projects including researching history of accounts, outstanding invoices, customer projects and payments.
Other duties as required.
Bachelors degree or at least two years toward earning a degree in accounting or business administration and a minimum of three years of accounts receivable experience including account management, multi-account research and evaluation, in a construction or manufacturing environment, or an associate degree in business and five years of experience in a construction or manufacturing environment. Or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a construction or manufacturing environment that equates to seven years. Experience processing liens would be a plus.
The successful candidate must have proven proficiency with Microsoft Excel, a strong audit background, detail management, problem-solving, and organizational skills, and an orientation toward excellent customer service.
