Nursery Sales Team Member

Position begins in early-mid April. Full availability is required from start of work through June. Weekend availability is a must.

Job Description

Chuck Hafners Garden Center believes in providing the customer with the highest quality, value and an excellent customer experience. As a Nursery Sales Associate you will work primarily in the nursery selling trees, shrubs, grasses and perennials. You will work in close coordination with the Nursery managers to ensure an excellent customer experience and help to keep displays stocked and maintained in between assisting customers. The successful candidate is hardworking, good at following procedures, detailed oriented, and has the ability to multitask. The Nursery Sales Team Member has a critical role in Chuck Hafners customers satisfaction.

Essential Functions

• Selling nursery stock
• Qualifying customers to be sure that you are matching them with the right plant material for their landscape conditions to ensure success.
• Stocking and working displays
• Spacing
• Maintaining Product
• Performing opening or closing duties
• Other duties as needed

Required Skills

• Enthusiasm for plants and willingness to learn on the job.
• Excellent customer service and phone skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding, outdoor environment
• Willingness to work in all weather conditions
• Solid plant based knowledge

Preferred Experience

• Horticulture degree or experience
• Retail sales experience

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and speak, use their hands and reach with arms. The employee needs to be able to freely access all areas of the store and growing facility by standing & walking for entirety of shift, stooping, crouching, and lifting and/or moving up to 50 (fifty) pounds if required.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $16.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 40 per week

• Landscaping: 1 year (Preferred)
