Full description of the position

We are looking for an ambitious and self-motivated Business Development Manager to deliver on lead generation and new business goals for Great Lakes Transport. This role is one of the first touch points for potential Great Lakes customers and sets the company up for success in the rest of the sales cycle. Description

Essential job duties:
  • Qualify, educate, and nurture prospects, leading to successful sales team handoffs
  • Collaborate with sales leadership on strategic sales approaches and effective tactics
  • Ensure successful follow-through of the sales cycle by maintaining accurate activity and lead qualification information in our CRM
  • Persistent outreach through phone calls, emails, and other channels to prospects
  • Prepare timely business quotes, bids, rates, and proposals for prospective customers
  • Gain insight into the customer's or prospect's organization, processes, needs, and wants to better provide transportation solutions
  • Consistently achieve qualified pipeline and new customer goals to ensure sales revenue objectives are met
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and Great Lakes service offerings
The most qualified candidates will demonstrate:
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, email, and organizational skills
  • You should be detail-oriented a great writer, speaker, and listener
  • Negotiation skills with the ability to motivate potential customers
  • Possess a hunter mentality with the willingness to make outbound phone calls every day
  • Demonstrated resilience - persist despite challenges and obstacles
  • Previous exposure and usage of sales engagement technologies
  • The intellectual horsepower to become #freightobsessed in a matter of weeks and the curiosity to keep learning for years to come
Experience:
  • 2+ years working in a sales role within the Logistics Industry
  • History of meeting established sales goals
Education:
  • High School Diploma Required
  • Bachelors (Preferred)
