Summary :
Establish, plan, direct and implement sales plans to meet the established sales objectives. Identify prospects, sell Smith Drug Products and services within a 3 hour traveling radius of Joplin, MO.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review, qualify and follow up on all sales leads generated with the assigned territory.
Generate leads through innovative sales and marketing ideas.
Target accounts to promote long term relationships with existing customers to increase customer satisfaction and continuous sales of Smith Drug Company products.
Maintain a thorough understanding of all Smith Drug Company's products and procedures by demonstration, observation, or interview.
Update and maintain an accurate prospect database.
Develop communications with customers to reflect Smith Drug's vision.
Distribute information to potential and current customers to generate sales.
Develop market strategy to increase customer base in assigned territory.
Attend public events which may generate leads in the assigned area.
Prepare all corporate documentation for vehicle use, daily activity, expenses, prospect base, etc.

Education and/or Experience
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability

Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Database software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Experience can be substituted for degree. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written are required. Must be able to work independently, have good computer skills, and be a proven self starter. Overnight travel is required.
