The Inside Sales and Business Development team within the U.S. Financial Services business unit is the driving force behind our relentless pursuit of growth in sales revenue. As an Inside Sales Representative (Early Career), you will:
  • Generate incremental revenue through lead follow up, social selling, prospecting, cold-calling, up-selling and cross-selling activities within a territory or account.
  • Identify and target potential clients and partners through extensive market research, social media, and licensed tools for lead and demand generation by creating and maintaining prospecting campaigns.
  • Generate, maintain and optimize leads, opportunities, and client interactions within our CRM system to ensure a healthy and efficient sales pipeline.
  • Prepare standard quotations and proposal information as needed; works with other SAS departments to create and finalize contracts and sales fulfillment requirements e.g. sells support documentation and services that compliments existing software license.
  • Participate in the development and execution of strategic planning for territory and account activity with sales and pre-sales teams.
  • Utilize internal and external resources to develop an understanding of industry trends, terminologies, basic software applications, operating systems, hardware requirements, company pricing, policies and licensing procedures.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

  • Establishes a plan to achieve the sales objectives of an account or territory, taking into consideration overall opportunities, strategic customer business priorities and anticipated business changes, regional issues, past sales results, and available resources to prioritize sales opportunities by accurately forecasting opportunities to management to obtain sales quota.
  • Identifies the most promising new sales opportunities by uncovering emerging business and market issues through networking, research, and use of social media to discover emerging market problems to address with clients and reflecting activity within CRM.
  • Sets high goals for personal and group accomplishment and embraces change with a positive attitude while proactively creating content to aid in lead or demand generation.
  • Accurately evaluates sales opportunities to determine the future value of that customer by developing a qualification process for evaluating leads to focus on those that will be most profitable.

Required qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Business, Finance, Computer Science or related field.
  • 1 year of experience in lead or demand generation.
  • Two years of experience in sales, business development or telesales in an industry related environment.
  • Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets and quotas, with quantifiable metrics of past achievements.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing market dynamics and contribute to the development of innovative sales strategies.
  • An equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.


Preferred qualifications
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to present and communicate SAS software solutions and services concepts clearly.
  • A strong history of successful client relationship building, with quantifiable results such as engaging with customers at signature SAS or third-party events and identifying new contacts within existing accounts or territories.
