Local family owned business with four locations here in Connecticut. Residential salesman is retiring after 30+ years with the company. Candidate with train with salesman and technician to learn the product line and business. Must be comfortable with a fast-paced, collaborative, demanding environment.
As a residential garage door and awning salesman you will be handling everything from new construction to retro fits. Your customers will be builders, general contractors, and home owners. You will have exclusivity of New London county.
As an Overhead Door distributor we have the exclusive rights to Overhead Door product. Selling everything your competition can while offering everything they can't.

Primary function is to:
- Sales opportunities; generate responsive proposals; negotiate and close work.
- Field verify and order materials.
- Manage customers and communicate daily with office staff (Operations Dept.; Scheduling; Service Dept.; et. al.).
- Project Management of sold work is equally as critical to the sales function of this position.
Qualifications:
- Field experience in construction industry desired.
- High level of organization
- Must also understand both pricing and P&L as it relates to customers.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to demonstrate our brand to both small and large groups with marketing tools and manuals.
- Good listening skills.
- An enthusiastic, energetic individual with a commanding presence and strong customer relationship building skills.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Must be a self-motivated professional with the ability to engage, possessing excellent selling skills.
- Must have strong organizational and analytical skills; responsible time management and timely reporting required.
- Ability to think and operate both short and long term, be able to hit sales numbers without sacrificing long term goals.
Requirements:
- Sales experience required.
- Experience in construction/Must possess a strong mechanical/technical aptitude and be good with numbers.
- An understanding of the construction industry with the ability to read, understand blue prints, specifications and perform take-offs.
- Must possess computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and CSM programs.
