An international server and supplier of fabricated & automated machinery is looking for an Applications Engineer to join their team by the Wood Dale, IL area. The ideal candidate will have experience with Laser / Press Brake applications, customer service, and the ability to travel 50% of the time.

This is a full time and direct hire position with benefits: 401K matching, PTO, vision, dental, medical, life insurance, etc.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with sales team to conduct product analysis and demonstrations, driving marketing efforts to secure business from prospective customers
• Oversee showroom activities and offer machine demonstrations and test studies
• Support setup and operation of machinery at trade shows to showcase product capabilities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with (Laser/Press Brake) distributors to enhance sales and revenue
• Identify sales opportunities by understanding customer needs
• Prepare reports and presentations for pre-sales activities and customer demonstrations
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

• Technical degree or equivalent is required
• 2-5 years of relevant experience
• Ideally prior experience Press Brakes and 2D & 3D laser systems
• Proficiency in CAD/CAM software and CNC programming
• Attention to detail and strong customer support skills
• Ability to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites, trade shows, etc
• Valid driver's license is required

This position is in an office/manufacturing work environment. While performing the duties of this job you may be required to intermittently sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 pounds, lift in excess of 50 pounds with a lift assist, climb stairs, use hands to handle or feel parts/equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend at the waist, talk and hear. You may also be required to use close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision.
