Inside Technical Sales (Industrial)

Irwin is seeking an accomplished and motivated individual to work for the Industrial Technologies Group and the Senior Vice President of Industrial Sales, and support the day-to-day estimating, proposal generation, and sales efforts of the Industrial Technologies Group. This hire will work with elements of the Irwin Car product line (wheels & wheel assemblies, etc.) and Phillips Group products line (buckets, steerable trailer, etc.). This will be done while developing a sound understanding of the core products and services of the company.

This person will report to (and be trained by) the Sr. Vice President of Industrial Sales working towards the goal of being an integral part of the sales team and the long-term sales strategy of the Industrial Technologies Group and Industrial Sales Department.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle customer inquiries by identifying a customer's needs and capitalizing on sales opportunities by providing solutions
  • Learn "catalog standard" product lines (Irwin Car and Phillips Group) and be able to articulate to customers
  • Generating sales quotations by creating basic estimates on inquiries (with support, review, and training from Manager)
  • Cold calling and following up on leads from sales campaigns, conferences, and tradeshows
  • Closing sales and seeing manufactured projects through to completion and shipment
  • Provide inside sales and logistical support to the Industrial Sales Manager when necessary
  • Work with the vendor base and production team to expedite critical items to facilitate on-time delivery of equipment for products sold
  • Liaise with the engineering and production departments to provide status updates to customers

Preferred Requirements and Qualifications:

  • A passion for sales and customer service, building relationships and being part of a great sales team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Excellent active listening skills and an aptitude for problem solving
  • Ability to answer a high volume of calls and/or emails every day
  • Excellent phone presence
  • Comfortable making cold calls and talking to new people
  • Provide a positive attitude to foster a friendly work culture.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to multi-task as well as prioritize and manage time efficiently
  • Willingness to learn and become a vital part of a 130-year-old industry leading company
  • 1-3 years of experience in a consultative selling role and/or industrial sales experience
  • Technical/Mechanical Sales Experience is a plus

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
