JOB SUMMARY:

A territory sales rep will contact Ohio CAT customers to increase parts and service sales and to build better ties with those customers to help improve POPS-C and facilitate STU growth. The standard will be to contact those customers at least 4 times a year, but customers with more potential will be contacted more often. The sales rep will contact customers in any market segment served by the heavy division. Sales rep will manage an account base of approximately 250 customers and will actively call those customers on a regular basis. Some of the first year will be spent qualifying accounts and updating customer information but our top priority is always to increase parts and service sales by servicing the customers.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Prior industry knowledge of the products along with a technical background of the products sold and serviced.
  • Telephone sales experience or outside sales experience desired.

COMPETENCIES:

  • Highly motivated individual that can work independently work with a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and good organizational skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to exceed customer expectations.
  • Advanced computer skills and the ability to operate in CAT information retrieval systems and Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Must have a strong sales orientation and mechanical aptitude.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
