Full description of the position

This position is responsible for receiving and processing customer inquiries and orders, the follow-up of these orders, and on those designated by the customer as priority the expedition of such orders. Inside Sales acts as primary contact for the customer with internal departmental complaints regarding delivery, quality, invoicing, freight, or application problems. Extended knowledge of the AS/400 System and NAS products is vital to this position to maximize the efficient matching of product to customer.

DUTIES

1. Solicits or receives telephone, mail or EDI inquiries and orders.

2. Monitors customer orders to anticipate delays and prevent errors.

3. Maintains confidential price deviations provided by Outside Sales.

4. Coordinates line priorities with planning to promote prompt delivery.

5. Acquires working knowledge of possible applications of metal products to maximize sales potential.

3. Interacts with technical, accounting, and traffic departments to gain information needed to respond to customer questions and complaints.

4. Develops knowledge of customers continuing needs and practice to assure the most efficient service possible, and to build customer loyalty and satisfaction. This may include travel to customer facilities and participation in mill meetings and tours.

5. Coordinates with planning to assure optimum lead time.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION AND/OR WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of an Associate's Degree and two years' experience in stainless or a bachelor's degree.
