Position Overview
The Landscape Design and Sales Consultant is an experienced professional directing the designing (working with our full-time landscape designer) and selling of Landscape and Hardscape Installation. Essential Responsibilities
This position exists to:
- Generate leads and follow up on company generated leads.
- Work with all other departments in ways that minimize re-work or warranty, and quality issues.
- Be a role model for the rest of the non-selling staff and embrace the vision, mission, and core values of the company.
- Screen and qualify leads and turn at least 50% of them into appointments with target customer turning into clients.
- Work with our on-staff designer to design creative Landscape and Hardscapes (outdoor living spaces) that solve client problems and create beautiful spaces that make others say WOW!
- Help our entire team be successful by pitching in and helping out with whatever is needed on a daily basis.
- Communicate well and effectively and follow the company mantra that there will be no surprises.
- Fully embrace our mission statement, understand the goal of our vision statement, and behave on a daily basis using our core values of quality, service, value, profitability, integrity, and teamwork.
- Produce weekly sales reports using the tools given to you by us.
- Prospect and develop business from networking and referrals from current clients.
- Represent the company at networking and public relations functions as needed.
- Demonstrate effective time management.
- Be responsible using your company vehicle recognizing, that at all times you are a symbol for Josh Landscape.
- Process work orders and schedule work. Have all construction documents accurately and timely filled out before project starts.
- Properly fill out tracking tools (pipeline) on a daily basis.
- Follow all of our steps in our sales process to sell effectively.
- Layout projects with production manager for pre-construction walk throughs.
- Do final walk through with clients and collect progress/final payments.
- No sales or work will be performed from Friday night sundown to Saturday night sundown.
- Hours are whatever it takes to meet sales goals. The team is expected to be here by 7:15am to connect with crews during the peak season and 8:30am during off peak season.
Knowledge and Experience
- This position requires a high school degree and/or associates degree or higher, additional office administration training is beneficial.
- The successful individual will have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. As well as CAD-based drafting and other graphic skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, math skills, and organization skills are a must.
- Customer service skills and proper phone etiquette are a must.
- Valid drivers license
Certifications
Candidates must have the following certifications or be willing to obtain them within 6 months of hire date:
- NYS Nursery and Landscape Association Certification CNLP
- ICPI Certification Level I
- StoneMakers Initial Certification
- NCMA Cert

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; crouch; stoop or kneel; reach with hands and arms; talk; and hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 30lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job are dictated by NYS Drivers license requirements.
Job Site Conditions
The job site conditions described below are examples of those conditions an employee encounters while performing the essential responsibilities of this job.
The position requires the use of a variety of computer equipment and other general office equipment. While visiting job sites the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather (heat or cold), and moving mechanical equipment.
In addition, job sites are located on both residential and commercial property.
Working Relationships
The employee will work closely with Clients, members of the office staff, members of production teams, management and other sales people.
