We are currently searching for a Sales Manager for the Radisson Ames Conference Center in Ames, IA

Requirements:

  • Represent the hotel in a positive manner at all times
  • Meet on site contacts and conduct tours of the property
  • Establish and maintain rapport with clients, prior to, during and post event, encouraging repeat and referral business
  • Generate proposals and contracts
  • Effective use of tracking activities, tracing future contact outreach efforts and logging lost business for future solicitation. Be accountable for accurate
  • Maintain positive relationships and work effectively with GM to maximize revenue opportunities and account saturation.
  • Actively seek new business opportunities for the hotel while being held accountable for weekly/monthly call production to meet goals, aligned by the GM.
  • Complete duties as outlined by the GM
  • Meet group rooms, food and beverage, meeting room rental and/or business transient travel revenue goals.
  • Follow prescribed Action Calendar in Marketing Plan to ensure your assigned activities are completed in a timely manner
  • Assist in development of the annual Marketing Plan
  • Assist in maintaining a team effort with fellow sales staff members as well as with other departments within the hotel
  • Respond promptly to all inquiries, lead referrals, and existing clients; resulting in documentation of all communication within 4 hours
  • Generate new business through varied sales activities and relationship building
  • Develop knowledge of the competition to better aid in the solicitation of accounts and network with industry peers to increase referral business
  • Follow-up with all clients before, during and after all meetings by up-keeping a current trace system through written, verbal and personal communication with clients
  • Review guest list in house/arrivals report to be aware of potential company business to target within assigned market segments
  • Joins and attends membership meetings to market facility, identify new businesses and better target market.
  • Participate in daily sales stand up meeting and weekly sales and revenue strategy meetings
  • Complete required weekly/monthly reports accurately and timely.

MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • Bachelor or Associate Degree in Management desirable.
  • Must have at least two years or prior experience in hotel sales and/or hotel catering department.
  • Must have the ability to communicate effectively with staff and clients.
  • Must have an outgoing, enthusiastic personality.
  • Must have professional business attitude and appearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
