Our client is a manufacturing company that delivers specialized products to meet their customers needs in a variety of industries. They are seeking a Director of Business Development to join their team on a full-time, direct-hire basis.
You will lead a seasoned team of Sales & Business Development professionals and work with the Marketing team, national accounts, support long-range plans, manufacturing, engineering and operations.
Reporting to the Vice President, this role will be a key member of the leadership team. Seeking a highly qualified individual with a demonstrated track record of strategic development and execution that is capable of leading multiple projects. This position will collaborate with various teams and the individual selected should be an accomplished professional with a background in/ knowledge of the sales process, marketing, and engineering. In addition, the candidate selected will be responsible for establishing relationships with key stakeholders and will participate in long-range planning by setting targets and growth for product lines. On the business development side, you will be in charge of increasing company revenue. This will be accomplished by identifying, developing new business opportunities, and expanding brand presence.
This role is also responsible for managing existing partnerships, evaluating company business goals, and by leading cross-functional teams. This person will direct marketing efforts by presenting market research to marketing directors and proposing strategies to expand market research.
You'll also chair the strategic planning process and oversee strategy formulation, development, and execution. Additionally, you'll research emerging trends and present business or marketing opportunities to the company's executive leadership, relevant stakeholders, and management.
Responsibilities
- You will manage and coordinate new product development projects, partner with marketing and sales management teams to achieve desired business growth from the innovation technology pipeline; and will lead projects to drive business efficiencies.
- Support growth and strategy programs through project management of new technology, product/process simplification projects, and product marketing projects.
- Lead, coordinate and drive projects through cross-functional Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing and Service.
- Lead projects that drive business efficiencies and growth through cross-functional teams.
- Develop and support new technology initiatives for product marketing and sales development resulting from end-user research.
- Perform as a cross-functional lead for product enhancement project that includes engineering and manufacturing alignment, service readiness and customer launch planning and execution.
- Review monthly financials to improve outlooking accuracy related to strategic projects.
- Oversee and manage multiple projects from initiation to completion.
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Conduct project evaluations and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular status updates to stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Education & Experience
- BS Degree in Business, Marketing, Finance, or Engineering
- Eight to 10 years of business, project management, engineering, or sales experience
- Experience in strategic development.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools
- Robust project management experience
- Analytical & problem-solving expertise
- Excellent decision-making & leadership skills.
- Customer focus
- Financial (P&L) expertise
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency is MS Office
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.

Pay: $175,000.00 - $190,000.00 per year
