NPC manufactures a complete line of vertical line shaft turbine and submersible pumps for the municipal, residential, petroleum, agricultural, and industrial commercial markets

The Applications Engineer position assists NPC customers with pump application needs, while supporting the sales and profit objectives of the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle the day-to-day sales inquiries from customers and sales team.
• Assist NPC customers with application needs.
• Review standard municipal and industrial specifications and apply National Pump product to applications.
• Provide technical support, prepare and submit quotations, technical documents, proposals and submittals to customers, while working with all other departments to improve processes throughout the organization, and be an effective team player.
• Work with sales and engineering departments to insure proper applications method(s) are followed and to support same with proper documentation.
• Prepare/oversee the quotation to sales order process upon award of contract.
• Understand and apply all aspects of proper engineering applications to general pump specifications.
• Provide written technical data instructions to Engineering related to information needed to process orders.
• Work with Engineering and Sales to ensure proper handling of sales orders until completion.
• May be required to attend trade shows on a local and or national level.

Minimum Qualifications (Education, Training, Experience, Skills)

• Bachelors degree or equivalent; minimum 1 2 years pump applications experience in working in the municipal water and industrial markets.
• Strong pump knowledge and people/communications skills, both oral and written are required.
• Must be able to speak and write in English and able to work in a fast paced environment.
• Must possess excellent computer skills in excel, word, outlook and other various types of computer software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

Must be able to Continuous 2 hours walking, 4 hours sitting, and standing/bending as intermittent 2 hours per day, be able to lift at least 30 to 50 pounds, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel or crouch, be able to reach all file cabinets and drawers, be able to talk & hear and be proficient with the English language in both verbal and written skills. Specific vision requirements are to have close, distance, color, peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is frequently required to use hands, fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or controls.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $31.00 per hour
