Job Summary:
The Catering Sales Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure catering contracts for weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and other functions held at our hotel. This role requires a blend of sales acumen, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of event planning and execution. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in catering sales, alongside outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate new business and maintain existing client relationships, focusing on increasing revenue through catering sales.
- Conduct market research to identify new sales opportunities and monitor competitors' sales strategies.
- Develop and present compelling proposals and contracts to prospective clients.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create customized menus and with the events team to ensure seamless execution of all events.
- Conduct site inspections with potential clients, showcasing the venue and discussing customizable event options.
- Achieve and exceed monthly and annual sales targets.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing clients' needs and feedback with promptness and professionalism.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, including inquiries, follow-ups, and transactions.
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote the hotel's catering services through various channels.
- Stay updated with trends in the catering and events industry to offer innovative and competitive services.
Qualifications:
- Highschool diploma or GED
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in catering sales, preferably within a hotel environment.
- Strong sales skills with a track record of meeting or exceeding targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Salesforce / Delphi FDC preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work under pressure.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by client meetings and events.
- A team player with a positive attitude, capable of working with cross-functional teams.
