Job Title: Sales Consultant
Reports To: Sales Manager

Position Overview/Summary:
The Sales Consultant manages and consults in a specific territory designated by management with a nationwide reach of distribution. Their main duties include designing plans to meet sales targets, developing and cultivating relationships with clients and evaluating costs to determine products pricing. Pricing analysis will include competitive assessment for company specific, privately labeled, items as well as routinely stocked and distributed materials. Presently, BPL Source primarily serves the compounding pharmacy, pharmaceutical & biotech cleanroom industries currently. The Sales Consultant will be key in determining additional target markets for the business as the industries evolve.
Responsibilities & Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve annual sales targets. Leadership will set sales targets for the sales department collectively. However, as a sales force is hired, it will be the managers responsibility to assign employee specific sales goals and/or KPIs for performance monitoring and personnel growth management.
- Generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking events and social media.
- Conduct research to identify potential clients and understand their needs and challenges.
- Take over management of certain house accounts from and as assigned by leadership.
- Work with leadership to determine a stepwise approach in identifying new opportunities for territory growth. Make recommendations to leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their evolving needs and provide solutions that meet their objectives.
- Present product demonstrations and proposals to clients, highlighting the features and benefits of our products and services.
- Negotiate terms and conditions and close sales deals to meet or exceed sales targets.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop strategies for lead generation and conversion.
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, market developments to identify new opportunities for business territory growth.
- Create and communicate sales goals and ensure company leadership is informed on the progress of those goals throughout the year. Reports and specific metrics will be established over time with frequency of presentation determined together with leadership. A minimum of monthly updates between direct reports and quarterly reports to ownership should be expected.
- Build and maintain long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their processes and needs. Utilize BPL Sources consultants/ process SMEs as needed to support any clients to secure a deep understanding of the clients unique process needs and/or their quality departments requirements for materials approvals.
- Understand industry-specific trends and landscapes. Utilize key information provided from leadership at times when regulations or standards may be changing to ensure BPL Source is proactive in informing customers to be prepared.
- Effectively communicate value propositions through presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
- Report on any known issues that shift strategic directions of accounts.
- Put quality, safety and customer service as top priorities in all tasks. BPL Source is proud to earn client trust & ultimately sales through a focus on quality of materials and knowledge of industry best practices. Therefore, the consultant must ensure that through their actions that our commitment to being a quality distributor with industry experienced consultant staff for account support is maintained visibly over our competition.
- Determine and suggest key industry events such as conferences or meetings in which BPL Source should have a presence for key client markets visibility. This will include requesting leadership to get established with potentially new manufacturers or newer items as they arrive on the market. The Consultant may not sign on behalf of BPL Source any contracts or agreements of business terms.
- Update all company opportunities in Company CRM platform.
- A willingness to travel is required.
- All other duties as assigned. Responsible for any special projects and/or additional tasks based on the needs of the business and management directives for operational compliance.
Education, Professional Experience & Skillset:
- Bachelors degree in relevant field (e.g. sales, business management)
- Minimum of 2 years experience in Medical/Pharmaceutical or equivalent
- Ability to interact verbally & electronically with clients always in a courteous & friendly manner.
- Proficient in Excel with ability to navigate multiple computer systems collectively to get needed information to clients and colleagues quickly.
- Function as a team & an individual.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work on computers & able to sit or stand for an 89-hour shift. Travel is required at a minimum of approximately 30% of the time. To achieve this, the expectation is that a minimum of 1 client visit, trade show representation or equivalent will take place once a month
Schedule:
Sales Consultant is a full-time position at BPL Source. The Manager will ensure their schedule meets a full-time employee schedule even though start/end times each day may vary and required remote work during travel will occur. The job will be on premises, with the opportunity to gain flexibility depending on reached goals. Routine communication and employee check-ins, including but not limited to 1:1 meeting or equivalent, are required for both direct reports and self with management.

Confidentiality: Except as otherwise expressly permitted in this Agreement, Employee shall not disclose or use in any manner, directly or indirectly, any Confidential Information either during the term of this Agreement or at any time thereafter, except as required to perform the Services or with Clients prior written consent.
Ownership of Work Product(s): Both parties agree that all work product, system process design or re-design, information or other materials created and/or developed by contracted advisor, in connection with the performance of the services expected under this agreement and any resulting intellectual property rights (collectively, the Work Product), are the sole and exclusive property of BPL Source.
Disputes & Governing Law: Both parties agree that the terms of this agreement and the rights of the Parties hereto shall be governed exclusively by the laws of the State of Texas, without regarding its conflicts of law provisions. Any dispute arising from this Agreement shall be resolved through binding arbitration conducted in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
Entire Agreement & Offer: Both parties agree that this agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the Parties hereto with respect the subject matter hereof, and supersedes all prior negotiations, understandings and employment agreements or roles of the Parties.
Non-Competition Agreement: Employee is not permitted to work for any competitive medical, health, lab or cleanroom distribution firm for a period of 2 years (24 months) after end of employment. This employment is and will continue to be at-will in nature. There are no minimum financial obligations or time of employment commitments made by BPL Source to employees
