Position Summary
Zafar Produce specializes in providing restaurants, educational institutions, and residential entities with the highest quality produce and specialty products at affordable prices. The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for growing market share within a designated area by identifying and onboarding new businesses while maintaining and growing existing clients. Upholding Zafars commitment to quality, customer responsiveness and food safety is the most important priority of this role, and the successful Outside Sales Representative will develop close working relationships with customers as well as the entire supply chain including the warehouse team, administrative personnel and suppliers.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
New Client Onboarding
- Identify and contact prospective clients
- Understand service and supply needs
- Write quotes and agreements
Customer Satisfaction
- Maintain excellent relationships with ongoing customers to ensure their needs are met
- Seek opportunities to expand existing relationships with new product offerings
- Provide feedback to management regarding new business line opportunities
Service Delivery
- Coordinate with warehouse personnel, administrative staff and drivers to ensure orders are fulfilled accurately and on-time. Occasionally, this task may require assisting with loads and deliveries.
- Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with services
Skills and Experience
- High School degree or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of sales, and/or chef/restaurant management experience, and/or related (Business, Sales, Marketing, Hospitality; or Culinary Arts) degree.
- 1 year of outside foodservice sales experience preferred
- Restaurant management / chef experience preferred
- Working knowledge of warehouse distribution
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with customers
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive, competitive, and confident personality
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to navigate customer requirements, analyze buying behavior, and interpret underlying needs
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar applications helpful
- Bilingual English with fluency in Spanish helpful

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
