Full description of the position

Job Description:
The Distal Extremities/Trauma Associate is primarily responsible for providing technical advice to customers and team members to support sales growth, sales objectives, and goal achievement within their assigned territory. This position involves maintaining expert knowledge of Arthrex trauma products and techniques, as well as providing support to surgeons in the operating room regarding the use of implants and instruments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Represent Steelhead Surgical, an authorized agent for Arthrex, by collaborating with surgeons and healthcare professionals.
  • Support in meeting and exceeding sales objectives within the assigned territory for Arthrex Trauma products category.
  • Ability to adapt to demanding and flexible schedules due to the nature of last-minute Trauma cases.
  • Develop and maintain a strong understanding of the Orthopedic Trauma portfolio and product line, business objectives, pricing strategies, and proven sales techniques.
  • Assist in training physicians on Arthrex products through education programs such as labs and training courses. Support Orthopedic in-service training programs at hospitals and clinics.
  • Establish and maintain communication with key customers, hospitals, OR Staff, administration, and clinicians.
  • Provide written and oral communication with both field and internal sales management regarding sales calls made, follow-up required, market potential, and recommendations for new sales, pricing, or promotional strategies.
  • Support field inventory and sales samples as assigned.
  • Collaborate with territory reps and managers.
  • Participate in and attend sales meetings and professional association meetings outside of regular business hours, as required.

Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a technical sales position or sales experience in the medical device industry.
  • Preferred industry experience in trauma, extremity, or biologics products.
  • Comfortable in surgery/operating room environments.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Possess a current Drivers License and access to personal transportation.
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
  • Strong PC application skills, including proficiency in various software applications such as spreadsheets, databases, and word processing (Word for Windows, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
  • Dynamic, assertive individual with excellent communication, and presentation skills.
  • Travel required for job effectiveness.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, handle frequent assignment changes, manage periodic heavy workloads, adapt to rapidly changing technology, and support dynamic business growth.
  • Proficiency in reading complex reference material, written user manuals, and understanding medical terminology.
