United Pipe & Steel, a member of the Reliance, Inc. family of companies, is the leading master distributor of standard pipe products in the United States, serving wholesale distributors only from our fleet of flatbed trucks. We are searching for a dynamic full-time Sales Assistant to join our Ipswich, MA team!

Our team of sales assistants supports our ongoing business with frequent order entry, special projects, and data collection to set up Sales team members for success. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced environment and be able to multitask in a timely manner. The candidate should have experience and a willingness to grow their skills in Microsoft Office, specifically already knowledgeable in MS Excel. Strong candidates with a desire to grow in our company will find this position offers growth in different departments.

Sales Assistant

Responsibilities:

• Supports the Inside and Outside Sales teams and sales management.
• Provides quotes & performs order entry in the ERP system. P21 experience is a plus.
• Prepares and mails binders, price lists, and general correspondence.
• Responds to service and general inquiry calls for both internal and external customers.
• Collects and updates data in the sales database and/or Excel files.
• Maintains customer files in a timely and well-organized fashion.
• Other general office tasks & special projects as required.

Requirements and qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience in administration, sales, or another supporting role with a basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices.
• Strong in MS Office, specifically MS Excel.
• Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Is able to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Accurate computer data entry skills.
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills; friendly, helpful, and engaging personality.
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.

Pay Range:

$23.00/hour - $24.00/hour
