Full description of the position

SUMMARY

Trachte Building Systems is adding a new position to support a new, technical product addition. The Technical Sales Support Specialist will be the technical expert, trainer and point person for large opportunities/accounts. They will assist the marketing and sales teams of two company divisions (Trachte and Trac-Rite) with different go-to-market strategies and direct selling.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be the resident expert (internal/external) for technical questions related to the product and partner integrations.
    • Product attributes: Bluetooth, LoRaWan networking, interface with property management systems (PMS)
    • Product development and support provided by a trade partner, but this person will be the internal resource for knowledge and questions.
  • Direst selling through all North America and assisting others in selling the product as an important contributor to achieving our sales goals.
  • Participate and contribute to developing the value proposition, launch messaging and selling aids.
  • Attending tradeshows and site visits for customer communication, installation, and troubleshooting.
  • Liaison and main contact with trade partner/product provider.
  • Work directly with the purchasing department to have POs executed.
  • Coordinate with the logistics team to ship products and manage samples.
  • Coordinate and manage orders and installations.
  • Sales Experience: Proven track record in outside sales, ideally within the self-storage or related industry.

  • Product Knowledge: A strong understanding of Bluetooth smart locks and their applications, as well as knowledge of the self-storage market.

  • Technical Aptitude: Ability to grasp and explain the technical features and benefits of Bluetooth smart locks, as well as troubleshoot common technical issues.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the self-storage industry, including industry trends, competitors, and customer needs.

  • Customer-Focused: Excellent customer relationship skills, with the ability to understand customer needs and tailor solutions accordingly.

  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills to present product features, benefits, and pricing clearly and persuasively.

  • Networking Skills: Strong networking abilities to build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the self-storage industry.

  • Self-Motivated: Demonstrated ability to work independently, set and achieve sales goals, and manage time efficiently.

  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changes in the market, product offerings, and customer demands.

  • Travel Availability: Willingness to travel frequently for customer visits, trade shows, and industry events.

  • Negotiation Skills: Proficiency in negotiation techniques to secure favorable terms and contracts with self-storage facilities.

  • Problem-Solving Skills: The capability to identify customer pain points and provide effective solutions using Bluetooth smart locks.

  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in using sales and CRM software for tracking leads, opportunities, and customer interactions.

  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams within the company, including technical support and marketing.

  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for in-person sales meetings and travel.

  • Bachelor's Degree: While not required, a bachelor's degree in a related field can be a valuable asset.
