Full description of the position
The Sales Account Manager performs all sales and account management related activities in his/her assigned geographic and customer account specific areas as outlined below:
Sales Account Manager Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective sales strategy for prospecting and developing propane and water services sales.
- Analyze propane and water services market data and identify opportunities for growth.
- Build and sustain long-lasting relationships with new and existing customers based within Heart of Texas Propanes territory, with the primary growth areas of Kerrville, Fredericksburg, Austin, Dripping Springs, Johnson City, Marble Falls and surrounding areas.
- Travel within the Heart of Texas Propane operating footprint with the primary focus being high growth potential and surrounding areas to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential commercial and residential propane customers and water services customers.
- Meet or exceed sales targets through growth in profitable propane gallons in both residential and commercial opportunities. This can include tank and installation sales, adding new residential customers through residential development, and growth through additional commercial gallons.
- Maintains accurate records of all leads, customer accounts, and sales.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to expand the companys presence through the creation of suitable marketing materials.
- Keeping abreast of the latest propane industry developments by attending propane meetings, training workshops, and propane industry events.
- Strategically negotiating with potential and existing propane customers to close profitable sales opportunities.
Sales Account Manager Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field is preferred.
- Proven outside sales experience.
- Technical experience in the propane industry is preferred.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong consultative sales skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $75,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
